Framing

Fast and furious framing! Brandon and his team bumped out the kitchen wall, made a new stairway (after removing the old), framed the new bedroom wall and the basement (as well as added Foamular insulation panels) and moved two windows. Watching those guys work was quite a wonder.

Jason Stinson, of Stinson Builders, chose Foamular rigid insulating panels for the outside walls of the basement to reduce energy loss and to create a vapor barrier at the same time. I chose to paint the block first with Watertite Waterproof basement paint just to get that extra protection from water intrusion and mold growth.

Jason will also have spray foam along the top of the basement walls (outside plate?) to create additional energy savings. Perhaps I can heat it with warm thoughts once we are done?
